How to Prepare For a Beach Retreat with Your Baby

Have in mind a day out at the beach, but can’t figure out how will that be possible with your infant along? Exposing him to scorching heat of the sun, the sandy expanse and the tides seems like putting the delicate being under torture? Well, your thoughts have sailed in a completely wrong direction. Try and see it this way - the azure sea makes for a captivating view for the kids’ eye, the sands provide to him the most engaging play field to fiddle around, the hustle and bustle around will take care of his short-lived attention span, and well needless to say, kids just love open spaces where they can move about anywhere.

So now, with a little preparation get ready to have a hell of a beach outing with your tiny-tot. All you need is to make diaper bag, packed with all the essentials to have a hassle free outing down the sands, under the sun. Here’s all you gotta have in your bag:

1. Swimsuit: Whoa! That is kinda exciting right? Just imagine those super cute kids swimming costumes and then your baby in one of them. If you don’t have one, buy it now. A swimsuit that let’s the baby’s skin breathe and have some fun with water is a must at the beach.

2. Extra-Changes: Carry along 1 or 2 sets of extra clothing with you, and let the baby roll and crawl, run and fall, and be wrapped up with sand all over during his play.

3. Baby powder and baby lotion and sun tan lotion: Protect your little one from the sun by applying good amount of sun tan lotion all over. Keep this, along with regular lotion and powder in the bag. The dry heat and rough soils calls for extra moisturizing for the baby.

4. Sun Hat: This is one of the most utility based kids hair accessories, and a must to carry when going on a beach. The hat will protect the baby’s scalp from heat as well as reduce the chances of tan.

5. Toys: Your baby can’t really spend an entire day with getting his hands on the slipping sand. Carry a few of his toys along. Also it would be a nice idea, if you could buy some tools that are specially made for kids to build sand castles. You could show him how to build one. Sure, would be a fun activity.

6. Sanitizer & baby wipes: Whether on a beach or at a camp, with babies around you gotta take care of the hygiene. So a hand sanitizer, baby wipes are a must to put in your baby’s bag.

Now a quick mention of those items that have very less chances of being forgotten. Nonetheless do deserve a mention -

1. Diapers and diaper rash cream:
2. Sterilized bottles and nipples
3. Baby milk powder and lukewarm water
4. Washable bibs

Astonished to find so many things to stuff in your tiny bay’s bag? Well, yes the burden of carrying a baby is less than carrying his big fat bag. But then at the end of the day, the fun you’ll have will make it worth the little effort. Enjoy!
